Ambulatory Care Unit
South Shore Hospital's Ambulatory Care Department sees thousands of patients annually who need specialty infusions, procedures and medication injections. An order from a provider on-staff is required. These infusion therapies include:
- Blood Transfusions
- Antibiotics
- Chemotherapy
- Immune Globulin (IVIG)
- Remicade
- Solumedrol
- Iron Preparations
- General hydrations
Nursing procedures include:
- Therapeutic phlebotomy
- Dressing change
- Port-a-cath access with lab draws
- PICC insertions by the IV team
MD procedures performed by the ordering doctor include:
- Lumbar puncture
- Thoracentesis
- Paracentesis
- Wound I & D
- General exams

Appointments are required and are scheduled by calling the Central Scheduling Department at 781-624-4090.

Monday-Friday 7 am-4 pm Saturday 7 am-3 pm
