South Weymouth, MA — The American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), the largest and most prestigious nursing credentialing organization in the United States, has recognized the nursing education program at South Shore Hospital by awarding the program with an initial two year accreditation.
To remain current, nurses, certified in their specialty, must complete continuing education from a recognized agency providing quality education. With the ANCC accreditation, nurses working at South Shore Hospital are now able to get nationally recognized continuing education at South Shore Hospital free of charge.
The ANCC system for accreditation of continuing nursing education is a voluntary recognition process. Institutions choose to apply for accredited status from the ANCC and undergo a comprehensive review. Once accredited, an institution agrees to abide by the ANCC’s rigorous standards.
As the credentialing arm of the American Nurses Association, ANCC accreditation and nursing certifications are highly regarded by federal, state and local agencies. The ANCC’s Accreditation Program only recognizes organizations that offer excellent continuing education to nurses.
