Braintree, MA — November 9, 2011 — For the fourth consecutive year, South Shore Visiting Nurse Association (VNA), a program of South Shore Hospital, has been named to the 2011 Home Care Elite compilation of the nation’s most elite home care providers by Outcome Concepts Systems (OCS), a leading post-acute health information company. The recognition means South Shore VNA is in the top 25 percent of all home care providers in the nation.
OCS maintains the nation’s most comprehensive set of integrated measures, spanning clinical outcomes, financial performance, resource utilization, patient satisfaction, and operational indicators for home health, hospice, and private duty agencies. OCS uses publically reported data from Home Health Compare and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Cost Reports to determine the top 25 percent of home care agencies in the United States.
“We earned this award through outstanding teamwork, and I want to thank our entire team for their commitment to quality and exceptional patient care. South Shore VNA is committed to continuing to improve; our team goal is to be named in OCS’s Top 500 agencies in 2012,” said Jann Ahern, executive director, South Shore Hospital Home Care Division.
