Mass Department of Public Health Survey Finds No Deficiencies
Rockland, MA—May 3, 2013—The Massachusetts Department of Public Health recently conducted a routine, but exhaustive, seven-day review of South Shore Visiting Nurse Association's (VNA) clinical care and operations. The surveyors were unable to find any deficiencies or findings meriting follow-up.
The surveyors reviewed randomly-selected patient charts, examined colleague personnel records, and with permission from patients, conducted home visits. The surveyors were impressed with visits made to homes of patients with highly-complex clinical and social challenges, as well as the integration of the VNA’s multidisciplinary services and communication.
During 2012, our VNA team made 150,656 visits to 7,368 patients. South Shore VNA has been named to the “2012 HomeCare Elite® Top 500” based on an independent review of our agency’s patient satisfaction, quality metrics, and operational performance. Our VNA now ranks among the top half-percent of 10,000 home care agencies reviewed by Outcome Concepts Systems (OCS), a leading post-acute health care information company. Although this is the first year that our VNA has been named to the Top 500, OCS has ranked South Shore VNA among the nation's top 25 percent of home care agencies since 2006.
South Shore Hospital congratulates all of its VNA colleagues for earning this third-party validation of their work on behalf of patients and families.
