South Shore Hospital Earns Full Accreditation from The Joint Commission

South Weymouth, Mass., April 28, 2010 -- South Shore Hospital was recently awarded full accreditation from the Joint Commission, the nation’s leading health care accreditation agency. Following an unannounced, comprehensive onsite evaluation of all its systems and processes, South Shore Hospital earned maximum three-year accreditation for all hospital, outpatient and home health services.
The Joint Commission is an independent, not-for-profit organization that accredits and certifies hospitals and health care organizations across the United States. Joint Commission accreditation is recognized nationwide as a symbol of quality that reflects an organization’s commitment to meeting the highest performance standards and to continuously working to improve health care for the public.

Accreditation is earned for a three-year period, after which, the Joint Commission will perform another review for re-accreditation.
