Home Care Options

South Shore Visiting Nurse Association, the home health care division of South Shore Hospital, offers programs to help you care for yourself and your new baby, and gain confidence in your parenting skills.

The parent/child health program provides prenatal health care, monitoring, and counseling. After childbirth we can address issues such as breastfeeding, postpartum depression, parenting skills, and infant/child safety. Call South Shore VNA at (781) 624-7070 for more information.

Home & Health Resources, the private duty department, is the region’s most comprehensive private-duty home care program for mothers and newborns. Our knowledgeable, compassionate professionals are available 24 hours a day to help you care for your newborn when you arrivehome. New mothers should consider Home & Health Resources if:

  • this is your first baby
  • you have multiple births
  • you need assistance with other children
  • relatives or friends aren’t available for ongoing support
  • you need an uninterrupted night’s sleep

Private duty home care services provided by Home & Health Resources are generally not covered by health insurance.
