South Shore Hospital’s department of critical care medicine is chaired by Elamana Vijayakkumar, MD, who is board-certified in both critical care medicine and anesthesiology. He directs a team of critical care physicians, one of whom is always on-site to respond to fluctuations in patient conditions.

Each unit is equipped with the latest in technology. Our units are supported by dedicated volunteers who greet and assist visitors.
