Cardiac MRI and CT

3-d heart imageThe Cardiovascular Center at South Shore Hospital offers both magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and computed tomography
(CT), non-invasive tests that provide very detailed pictures of the heart and blood vessels.

South Shore Hospital was the first hospital
in Southeastern Massachusetts to acquire
a 64-slice CT scanner — the fastest, most sophisticated heart-imaging technology available. The scanner creates three-dimensional images that allow physicians to view the heart and its surrounding arteries
with unparalleled clarity. The machine works in the time it takes a patient to draw and hold a single breath.
