Have Questions?

When completed, our $43 million expansion project will add 60 new, private inpatient rooms to our Emerson building, helping us meet the needs of the growing numbers of people who choose South Shore Hospital for care.

Construction will take 18 months, from June 2011 through December 2012.

The expansion involves horizontally extending the Emerson building (where the Main entrance is) by 40 feet and adding two new floors above it.

The additional space will allow us to designate patient care areas to meet the specific needs of medical, surgical, orthopedic, and cancer patients.

The expansion is made possible by donations to the South Shore Hospital Charitable Foundation.  For information about making a donation, contact the South Shore Hospital Charitable Foundation at 781-624-8600 or email the Foundation.
