Ways to Memorialize Someone
When death separates us from those we love, one of the ways we can honor his or her memory is through a memorial gift. Most memorial gifts are prompted by messages in obituaries and nourished through anniversary giving.
Condolences of thoughtful friends and relatives who remember the anniversary often soften the edge of grief and provide a way to bring care and comfort to others in need.
Our Evergreen Society recognizes memorial funds in a loved one’s name when the total reaches at least $1,000.
The memorialized person is remembered in a ceremony and recognized on a display inside the Hospital for five years. When the memorial fund grows to at least $10,000, families may choose to dedicate specific programs or areas at South Shore Hospital, South Shore Visiting Nurse Association, or Hospice of the South Shore.
Dedicated gifts are typically recognized at a ceremony where a plaque is unveiled, unless the donor specifies otherwise.
