Food and Nutrition Services
South Shore Hospital provides you with wholesome well-balanced meals. We make every effort to prepare nutrition according to your doctor’s orders. You will receive the next day’s menu selection on your breakfast tray each day. If you have any questions, a dietary technician will go over your menu and assist you with appropriate choices. If you have questions or concerns regarding your ordered diet, please contact your nurse so a Registered Dietitian can assist you.
What can a registered dietitian do for you?
Registered Dietitians (RD), with expertise in nutrition therapy, may help you develop and achieve goals for an array of nutritional concerns including: managing a condition through nutrition, prevention of certain diseases or conditions, improving health and fitness goals and making lifelong behavior changes. Through individualized counseling, your dietician can put you on the road to nutritional success.
Breakfast is typically served between 7-8:30 a.m.; lunch between 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m.; and dinner between 5-6 p.m. Occasionally, your meal will be delayed due to medical tests you may have scheduled. We will be sure to serve your meal whenever possible after your testing.
