Visit The Friends of South Shore Hospital's Charitable Gift Shops

The Friends of South Shore Hospital operates two charitable gift shops.
All shops' proceeds are donated to the hospital to benefit patients and their families.

Volunteers primarily staff the Shops. Anyone who is interested in volunteering at one or more of the shops should call 781-624-8242 or e-mail volunteers@sshosp.org. Please include your name and address so we may send you a volunteer application packet.

The Friendly Gift Shop

The Friendly Gift Shop is located in the hospital's main lobby at 55 Fogg Road. This Shop features fresh flowers, gifts, balloons, greeting cards, infant and women's clothing, scarves, turbans, plush toys, games, books, photo frames, lotions, and other gift items for patients, visitors, and staff. Candy, stamps, and other conveniences are also available in this shop.  The Friendly Shop is open Mondays-Fridays, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Saturdays, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sundays from 12:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Call 781-624-8667.

The Cottage Shop

The Cottage Shop is located at 56 Fogg Road across from the hospital's South Entrance. Inside this charming Cape Cod style home are a tempting array of home and garden accessories, women's and children's clothing, candles, lotions, note cards, framed prints, furniture, jewelry, and the latest Vera Bradley™ designer bags and totes. The Cottage Shop
is open Mondays-Saturdays, from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.  The Shop is closed on Sundays.

Send Flowers or a Gift to a Patient

You may arrange to have flowers or gifts sent to a South Shore Hospital patient by calling
The Friendly Shop at 781-624-8667 during operating hours: Mondays-Thursdays, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Fridays, from 9 a.m.-5 p.m.; Saturdays, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sundays from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Ordering Guidelines

Confirm patient is in our care

Please verify that the individual to whom you wish to send a gift is currently in South Shore Hospital's care by calling patient information at 781-624-3400. When calling, please provide the patient's first and last name. Please note: for privacy reasons, some patients restrict hospital staff from acknowledging to callers or visitors that they are in our care.

Purchasing items

You may purchase the following items using the major credit card of your choice:
American Express, Discover, MasterCard, or Visa.

Gift tags

All orders are delivered with a gift tag. Please tell our volunteer what you would like printed on the gift tag.

Order processing

Orders are hand-delivered without cost to you. Orders can only be processed when the Friendly Shop is open: Mondays-Fridays, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.   We will do our best to assure that orders received within two hours of shop closing are processed and delivered the same day. You will be contacted by phone if a patient has already been discharged before your gift can be delivered.

Restrictions

Some patients, such as those in our emergency center and critical care units, may not be able to receive flowers or gifts in their rooms.
