Honoring Someone
Ways to Honor Someone
A charitable gift to South Shore Hospital, South Shore Visiting Nurse Association, or Hospice of the South Shore, is a thoughtful and meaningful way to recognize a birthday, bar or bat mitzvah, confirmation, graduation, wedding, anniversary, promotion, retirement, or other milestone in a loved ones life.
To make a cash/check gift to honor someone, please enclose a note that includes the name of the person you are honoring and his/her address. Your loved one will receive notification from us within 15 days that you have made a gift in their honor.
Ways to Memorialize Someone
When death separates us from those we love, one of the ways we can honor his or her memory is through a memorial gift. Most memorial gifts are prompted by messages in obituaries and nourished through anniversary giving.
Condolences of thoughtful friends and relatives who remember the anniversary often soften the edge of grief and provide a way to bring care and comfort to others in need.
Our Evergreen program recognizes memorial funds in a loved ones name when the total reaches at least $1,000.
The memorialized person is remembered in a ceremony and with a leaf on our Tree of Life
for five years. When the memorial fund grows to at least $10,000, families may choose to dedicate specific programs or areas at South Shore Hospital,
South Shore Visiting Nurse Association, or Hospice of the South Shore.
Dedicated gifts are typically recognized at a ceremony where a plaque is unveiled,
unless the donor specifies otherwise.
