How to Apply
Our volunteer interview process helps identify whether volunteering at South Shore Hospital is right for you.
The process starts by calling us at 781-624-8241, or e-mailing us at volunteers@sshosp.org to arrange an introductory appointment with a volunteer coordinator. Please include your name and address so we may send you a volunteer application packet.
During this appointment, you will complete a volunteer application. You will have an opportunity to discuss your interests and skills and learn more about our available volunteer assignments. You will also receive an overview of volunteer obligations and benefits.
If appropriate, you will visit the area and people with whom you may volunteer and receive a written description(s) of the volunteer assignment(s) of greatest interest to you.
If a determination is made that there is a match between your interests and South Shore Hospital's volunteer needs, we will check your personal references. We are also mandated by regulatory agencies to conduct a criminal offender record/background check inquiry.
South Shore Hospital accepts applications, conducts interviews, assesses competencies and offers volunteer opportunities to qualified applicants without regard to race, color, sex, age, religion, national origin, disability, veteran status, or sexual orientation as required by state and federal law.
