Services For Patients With Auditory Impairments
- South Shore Hospital retains DT Interpreting (Deaf Talk) services, a video conferencing system which offers real-time interpretation in American Sign Language. DT Interpreting (Deaf Talk) can be utilized in all areas of the main campus as well as 780 Main Street Outpatient Surgical Center.
- Access to in-person interpreters is also available. To schedule an interpreter please call the Patient Relations Department Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 6 p.m. at 781-624-8888, via email at advocacy@sshosp.org or after normal business hours at 781-624-8322 to reach the Administrative Clinical Coordinator.
- South Shore Hospital has access to TDD (Telecommunications Device for the Deaf). These devices are available at our concierge desks, Emergency Department, and on request for inpatient use by contacting your nurse who will arrange delivery of the device.
