Deborah Carlson, CNM earned her degree in Nursing at State University of New York Albany. She then proceeded to join the Army while pursuing Midwifery studies at the University of Kentucky. During that time, she proudly cared for active duty women and families and delivered numerous Army babies as part of the Army OB/GYN care unit.
In 1994, with three children of her own, Debbie retired from the Army as a Lieutenant-Colonel and moved to Massachusetts with her family. Her passion for women’s health and midwifery continued in several private practices before joining South Shore Hospital’s maternity team in 2012 as a certified nurse midwife/laborist.
Debbie supports families through labor and birth, and greatly enjoys sharing in each patient’s unique experience, especially the joy that come from watching a family hold their precious baby for the first time.
Debbie currently resides on the South Shore and is an active member of the American College of Nurse Midwives. Debbie is an avid reader in her spare time, and loves spending time with her children and grandchildren.
