Neonatal Rehabilitation Program

At South Shore Hospital’s advanced Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), our youngest patients receive rehabilitation to help meet their special needs.

Working closely with parents and the NICU medical team, physical, occupational and speech-language therapists create a personalized rehabilitation program. They also offer extensive education and treatment regarding positioning, developmental activities, plagiocephaly prevention, feeding strategies and parent/infant interaction—giving your little one the best chance at recovery.

Neonatal Conditions We Address

  • Alterations in infant development or behavior due to prematurity
  • Neurological conditions such as cerebral palsy or seizures
  • Down Syndrome or other chromosomal/genetic disorders
  • Failure to thrive or growth concerns
  • Recovery from prenatal drug exposure

For more information about neonatal rehabilitation, and all of the comprehensive care we offer in the NICU, please call (781) 624-8303.
