South Weymouth, MA — South Shore Hospital is working with Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Brigham and Women’s Hospital to open an outpatient Cancer Center in South Weymouth that will usher in a new level of cancer care for the people of the region. The Center is expected to welcome its first patients in 2009.
Below, the presidents and chief executive officers of all three hospitals review an artist’s rendering of the four-story 85,000 sq. ft. structure, which will include medical oncology offices, diagnostic imaging, linear accelerators, laboratory, pharmacy, chemotherapy infusion areas, breast health program, family resource center, a boutique and healing gardens.
The Cancer Center will further enhance South Shore
Hospital’s already comprehensive cancer program, which features advanced
surgical treatments, patient access to select
Dana-Farber/Partners Cancer Care clinical trials, outpatient care, visiting
nurse and
hospice services.
