National Recognition for South Shore Hospital’s Respiratory Care

South Weymouth, MA — South Shore Hospital is pleased to announce that, for the third consecutive year, South Shore Hospital’s Respiratory Care Services have earned Quality Respiratory Care Recognition (QRCR) from the American Association for Respiratory Care (AARC).

 This recognition means that South Shore Hospital meets strict safety and quality standards related to the provision of respiratory care services by qualified respiratory therapists. To qualify for the recognition, hospitals must meet the following criteria: 

The QRCR is bestowed under the auspices of a national AARC program aimed at helping patients and families make informed decisions about the quality of respiratory care services available in hospitals.

South Shore Hospital is one of only three hospitals in Southeastern Massachusetts to have been named a Quality Respiratory Care institution by the AARC.

South Shore Hospital is a tax-exempt, charitable provider of acute, emergency, outpatient, home health, and hospice care to the people of Southeastern Massachusetts.  South Shore Hospital employs 3,500 full- and part-time employees and features Southeastern Massachusetts’ largest and most clinically diverse medical staff, with more than 800 members.
