Nutrition Education

South Shore Hospital offers individual medical nutrition counseling for a variety of diagnoses, including diabetes, cancer, kidney disease, GI disorders, obesity (pediatric and adult), and sports nutrition. A physician nutrition order is required to participate in the program. Please call 781-624-8809 for more information.

The Outpatient Rehabilitation Center at South Shore Hospital has numerous Community Exercise Programs that are developed and supervised by exercise physiologists. Call 781-624-4367 for more information regarding specific classes and fees.

Charges and insurance

There is a fee for each visit with the registered dietitian. Most insurance companies do cover our services, but please contact your insurance company to determine if outpatient nutrition therapy is covered.

Call Centralized Scheduling at 781-624-4090. Plan on spending a full hour, one-on-one with the dietitian.
