The Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program at South Shore Hospital combines therapeutic exercise, education, and nutrition counseling to restore health and improve quality of life for patients with a variety of chronic lung conditions.

Conditions We Treatpulmonary rehab

A physician’s referral is needed to join the program. Certain medical tests are required, including an EKG, stress test, and pulmonary function test. If the necessary tests have already been performed, copies of the results may be provided by the patient. Test results should be from tests taken within the past six months.

Patients meet with our rehab team to review their medical history and goals for the program. Together, they will develop a plan to help the patient reach his/her highest potential.

Our Pulmonary Rehab Team

Our therapists work closely with the referring physician to accomplish each patient's individualized goals and/or restore/maintain each patient’s functional mobility based on the referring diagnosis.
