South Weymouth, MA—April 9, 2013—South Shore Hospital leaders recently named Christopher J. O'Connor, CFRE, Senior Vice President, Philanthropy.
Chris comes to the South Shore Hospital Charitable Foundation from Cape Cod Healthcare, where he had been president of its charitable foundation since January 2010. At Cape Cod, Chris was responsible for leading a team that successfully managed and directed a $100 million capital campaign.
As a resident of Hingham, Chris is familiar with South Shore Hospital and its mission of healing, caring and comforting. Prior to joining Cape Cod Healthcare, he advised the Foundation while he was a senior vice president with Ghiorsi & Sorrenti, a national capital campaign consulting firm.
Chris has a bachelor of science degree in management from Bentley University and is pursuing a master's degree in business administration from Salve Regina University. He has attained certified fundraising executive status, which is awarded to those fundraising professionals who aspire to the highest standards of professional competence and ethical practice in serving the philanthropic sector.
