Meet the Dietitians

South Shore Hospital’s team of registered dietitians is dedicated to providing personalized care to help you meet your health goals. Our Outpatient Nutrition Education Program includes an initial session with a registered dietitian followed by educational sessions based on your individual needs.

Meet Our Team


Emily McPhee, RD, LDN, is a registered dietitian who specializes in medical nutrition therapy for diabetes, obesity and renal disease. Emily began her career working as an inpatient dietitian working in an acute care hospital, and has extensive experience counseling seniors in disease prevention as well as weight and diabetes management. Her goal is to promote wellness by helping her patients make positive, sustainable life changes.

Emily earned her Bachelor of Science degree in nutrition, with a second degree in health promotion and fitness at Keene State College. She completed her dietetic internship at Saint Joseph College, with clinical training at Waterbury Hospital in Connecticut. 

Alexa Day

Alexa Day, RD, LDN, is a registered dietitian. From Simmons College, she completed her Certificate in the Didactic Program of Dietetics and continued to complete a Sodexo Dietetic Internship at Southcoast Health System, with a concentration in Weight Management.

Alexa began her career as in inpatient clinical dietitian at South Shore Health System and has experience providing nutrition counseling to a diverse population of patients with a wide variety of conditions, including diabetes, heart disease, weight loss, IBS, crohns, diverticulitis, and renal disease.

Alexa works closely with patients that have gestational diabetes, and is part of a multidisciplinary team caring for patients with diabetes.

Alexa enjoys working together with her clients to create individualized plans to meet goals of maintaining health and wellbeing.
